18 March 2021 The CRM-QHL sits on the test section of NASA Langley’s 14x22 Subsonic Tunnel. Researchers used both sound-dampening methods and an array of microphones to test the noise emitted from the wing.

Langley targets the leading-edge for noise reduction

28 January 2021 Leonardo has lined up behind a consortium aiming to design, develop and manufacture an ultra-low mass, robust, proof-of-concept carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) wheel for rotary wing aircraft.

Leonardo backs consortium building CFRP helicopter wheel

A wheel made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic will offer enhanced mechanical properties at about half the density of metal wheels. It will be made with tailored fibre placement, braiding and out of autoclave processes.
