Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc., a subcontractor to Bombardier, delivered its First C Series Fixed Trailing Edge (FTE) to Bombardier at a ceremony held at TAI's facilities in Ankara, Turkey, on August 19, 2014.
TAI assembled FTE will be integrated to wing in Belfast facilities and delivered to the final assembly line in Montreal, Canada.
Many high level authorities among whom were the VP & General Manager of BA-Belfast Michael Ryan, Vice President of Supply Chain & Fabrications Stephen Cowan, TAI President and CEO Muharrem Dörtkaşlı, Senior Executive Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Governance Bekir Ata Yılmaz and Executive VP of Aero Structure Naki Polat participated in the ceremony.
TAI has a long, proven track record of building exceptional aerospace products and C Series is one of these products which makes difference by its properties like low fuel consumption, environmental energy usage. Delivery of this high quality product FTE has been another major milestone. Adding new capabilities and increasing outsourcing activities are other major benefits of this program.
Once the program reaches full rate production, TAI will support Bombardier wing assembly lines in Belfast by shipping ten FTE per month.
