Family of twin-jet narrow-body airliners. Final assembly in Mirabel, Canada and also Mobile, Alabama from 2020. Designed by Bombardier and previously known as Bombardier C-Series, CS100 and CS300. Airbus acquired a majority stake in the program in 2018 after which the C-Series was known as A220 with 2 variants A220-100 and A220-300.
Aerodynamic swept low wing with winglets, sweptback tail-surfaces and wing-podded Pratt & Whitney turbofan engines, as well as a largely composite structure contribute to high efficiency of the aircraft. Composite wings, radome, belly fairing, engine nacelles, rear fuselage and tail surfaces; aluminium-lithium centre fuselage; titanium engine pilons and extreme tailcone. Large passenger windows, wide seats and overhead bins.
Two crew with two EFIS displays, fly-by-wire flight controls and side-stick controller.
