Lancair International Inc. of Redmond, Oregon, a manufacturer of high performance kit planes, announced today the successful first flight of its newest Evolution model. The piston version of the Evolution aircraft, to be powered by Lycoming's new iE2 series engine, will provide previously unheard of automation in engine operation and performance, allowing true single lever operation. The piston Evolution cruises at 270 knots and has a full fuel payload of 1074 lbs.
The Evolution is Lancair's newest pressurized four place plane available in either a piston or turbine configuration. Its high altitude speed, coupled with docile slow speed handling, makes it ideal for affordable cross country travel.
Beginning June 18th, Lancair will showcase its Turbine Evolution aircraft during a cross-country tour. For information concerning the tour schedule contact Lancair International at 541-923-2244 or visit our website at www.lancair.com, see EVOLUTION TOUR.
