PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: APEX Hayden - Unitech Composites
Unitech Composites, a Unitech Aerospace company and leading supplier of complex composite laminates, components and assemblies for the commercial aerospace and defense industry, was recently awarded a multi-year contract with Boeing Defense, Space & Security for the manufacture of composite wing trailing edges to support the F/A-18 "Super Hornet" program. The multi-million dollar agreement extends through 2021.
"We are very pleased to extend our long standing relationship with Boeing Defense," said Joyce Hagues, Vice President and General Manager of Unitech Composites. "We faced strong competition for this program but Boeing ultimately selected Unitech because of the overall value we provide."
The trailing edges included in this agreement are new for Unitech Composites, which is pushing into larger and more complex assemblies. These composite parts will support production and spares for many of Boeing's U.S. and international F/A-18 customers.
In addition to the new F/A-18 statement of work, Unitech also supports several other Boeing Defense aircraft including F-15 Strike Eagle, CH-47 Chinook, AH-64 Apache, V-22 Osprey and the KC-46 Tanker.
