Honeywell has successfully transmitted data using its JetWave X high-speed connectivity system over the Viasat satellite network. The system is designed to deliver consistent, high-performance inflight broadband for business jet operators worldwide.
JetWave X builds on the JetWave platform already flying on 2,000 aircraft, and is expected to be certified in the fourth quarter of this year. The architecture has been simplified to reduce installation time and support future upgrades, while customers using earlier JetWave systems will see performance improvements via JetXP plans.
Jason Wissink, president of services and connectivity at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, says: “By successfully passing traffic over the Viasat network, JetWave X has reached a major milestone in our progress to complete its development and certification by the fourth quarter of this year.”
Kai Tang, head of business aviation at Viasat, adds: “The combination of JetWave X and our JetXP service will deliver an even greater standard of consistent, reliable and seamless in-flight broadband.”
JetWave X has already been selected by Bombardier and Dassault, with more platform announcements expected in the second half of 2025.
