Honeywell supplies LED landing search light for MV-75
Thursday, 15 January 2026
The system strengthens Honeywell’s contribution to the U.S. Army programme alongside its previously selected thermal management and power solutions.

Honeywell has been selected by Bell Textron to provide its LED Landing Search Light for the U.S. Army’s MV-75 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft programme.

The high-intensity searchlight combines multiple lighting functions in one system to reduce pilot workload. It features enhanced optical performance, efficient power and thermal management, and environmental protection to reduce weight and operating costs.

“The MV-75 FLRAA is crucial for the U.S. Army and will provide the Army significantly enhanced speed, range and lethality,” says Rich DeGraff, president, Control Systems, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies.

“Our proven Honeywell LED Landing Search Light has been optimized to meet demanding mission needs throughout the MV-75 FLRAA contract and subsequent active-duty service that will last beyond 2050,” DeGraff adds.

The system is manufactured at Honeywell’s Urbana, Ohio site. It incorporates latest-generation components adapted from commercial aviation and modified to meet MV-75 requirements. It also offers growth potential for future aircraft variants, including integration with a laser pro tracker and EO/IR systems.

This builds on earlier MV-75 FLRAA selections by Bell, including Honeywell’s Attune thermal management system and 36-150 auxiliary power unit. Attune delivers cold air or liquid to cool cabin and electronic systems, while the 36-150 APU provides electrical and hydraulic backup to support operational flexibility.
