ITP Aero delivers first combustor for GTF engines
Thursday, 22 January 2026
The combustor was built at the company’s Hucknall facility and will support the PW1500G and PW1900G engine families.

ITP Aero has delivered its first combustor for the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G and PW1900G engines, supporting one of the most advanced commercial engine programmes currently in operation. The PW1500G powers the Airbus A220 and the PW1900G powers the Embraer E2 aircraft.

The combustor was manufactured at ITP Aero’s UK facility in Hucknall, which has undergone significant development to meet the required quality and performance standards.

ITP Aero is a risk and revenue sharing partner in Pratt & Whitney’s GTF programme and became the 21st shop in the GTF MRO network in June. The company will deliver its full volume of combustors in 2026.

Executive Vice President of Civil Business at ITP Aero, Mikel Lantero, says: “We are proud to be supporting the GTF programme and to have reached this important milestone. Our teams across our global network have demonstrated exceptional engineering capability and commitment to excellence. As a partner on the GTF programme, we are dedicated to finding new ways to support its continued expansion and success by Flying Forward, Together.”

ITP Aero is one of the few companies globally able to manufacture advanced combustors for both civil and defence aerospace platforms. It is also involved in research and technology initiatives in the UK, Spain and at the EU level.
