Rotary actuators convert hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical input energy into controlled angular or rotational output motion, encompassing vane-type, rack-and-pinion and helical-spline mechanisms used to drive flight-control surfaces, thrust-reverser sleeves and landing-gear doors, with designs typically qualified to DO-160 environmental standards and incorporating positional feedback via RVDT sensors.
