Oilless bearings for aerospace applications are self-contained sliding or rolling-contact elements that eliminate the need for external lubrication systems by incorporating solid lubricant materials — typically PTFE composites, bronze-sintered matrices, or MoS₂-impregnated liners — into the bearing structure itself, and are commonly employed in flight-control linkages, actuator pivots, and landing-gear mechanisms where grease contamination or maintenance access is impractical.
