Bayonet connectors are quick-disconnect mechanical interface devices that achieve positive locking through a quarter-turn rotational engagement mechanism, used across aerospace platforms for electrical, optical, and fluid-line terminations where rapid coupling and decoupling under vibration or thermal cycling is required; they are typically manufactured to MIL-SPEC and AS standards in aluminium alloy, stainless steel, or thermoplastic housings with anti-decoupling features such as spring-loaded locking pins.
