Computer-aided Tomography

Computer-aided tomography (CAT) covers industrial CT scanning systems used to generate volumetric, cross-sectional images of aerospace components without disassembly, employing X-ray attenuation data reconstructed via filtered back-projection or iterative algorithms to reveal internal geometry, porosity, inclusions, delaminations, and wall-thickness variation in metallic castings, composites, and additive-manufactured (AM) parts.
