Magnetic shielding encompasses the passive attenuation of static and low-frequency magnetic fields within aerospace structures, covering the fabrication and integration of enclosures, panels and foils produced from high-permeability soft magnetic alloys such as mu-metal (Ni–Fe), permalloy and amorphous metallic glasses, together with associated annealing and degaussing processes that optimise permeability after forming.
