Slotted entry bearings are rolling-element bearings in which a loading slot machined into the inner or outer raceway permits assembly of a greater complement of balls than is achievable through conventional Conrad-type filling methods, thereby increasing radial load capacity; manufactured from aerospace-grade bearing steels such as AISI 52100 or M50, they are used in control surfaces, actuation systems, and airframe structural joints where high radial loads and compact envelope are required.
