Fuel Inerting Systems

Fuel inerting systems reduce the flammability of ullage space within aircraft fuel tanks by displacing oxygen with an inert gas, typically nitrogen-enriched air (NEA) generated through hollow-fibre membrane air separation modules (ASMs) fed by bleed air or dedicated compressors, encompassing the on-board inert gas generation system (OBIGGS) architecture, flow control valves, distribution plumbing, and oxygen concentration monitoring sensors.
