Electroplating

Electroplating in aerospace manufacturing encompasses the electrodeposition of metallic coatings — principally chromium, nickel, copper, and gold — onto metallic and composite substrates to impart corrosion resistance, wear resistance, dimensional restoration, or electrical conductivity, employing controlled rectified-current bath processes governed by specifications such as AMS 2402 and MIL-STD-1500.
