Mould release agents are chemical formulations applied to tooling surfaces — including autoclave moulds, resin transfer moulding (RTM) tooling, and mandrels — to prevent adhesion of cured composite matrices such as epoxy, phenolic, and bismaleimide (BMI) resins, encompassing semi-permanent, wax-based, and PTFE-based release systems compatible with both metallic and composite tool substrates.
