Retaining rings are precision-formed circular fastening elements used in aerospace assemblies to secure components axially on shafts or within bores, preventing displacement under dynamic and vibratory loads. Manufactured from spring steel, stainless steel, or beryllium copper to AMS and NAS standards, they include internal and external circlip types, E-rings, and spiral rings, installed via applicator tooling into machined grooves.
