Rod ends are pivoting mechanical linkage terminations incorporating a spherical plain bearing within a threaded shank, used throughout flight control, actuation, and landing gear systems to accommodate angular misalignment under dynamic loading. They are manufactured from aerospace-grade alloy steels, corrosium-resistant steels (CRES), and titanium alloys, with bearing liners in PTFE composites or chromium-plated steel, conforming to NAS, AN, and ASNA standards.
