Cirrus Aircraft has broken ground on a $13 million expansion to its Grand Forks, North Dakota, manufacturing facility. The 30,000 square foot addition will increase the existing 165,000 square foot space and will support the continued production of the SR Series and Vision Jet.
The expansion will include new equipment, storage and technical tools, and will create additional jobs over the next five years. It is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
“We have worked closely with the Grand Forks legislature and community to invest in the growth and expansion of a facility that not only supports manufacturing the best-selling single-engine piston aircraft and best-selling jet—right here in Grand Forks,” says Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus.
Cirrus says it remains committed to safety, innovation and quality, as well as the economic future of the region. Its SR Series and Vision Jet aircraft include the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System and Safe Return Autoland as standard, and the company provides flight training and global support through its Cirrus Approach and authorised partner network.
More than 11,000 aircraft have been delivered to date, with the total fleet logging over 18 million flight hours.
