Self-locking screws for aerospace applications incorporate integral prevailing-torque features — including nylon-insert, distorted-thread, or all-metal elliptical-shank designs — to resist loosening under vibration and dynamic loading without secondary locking devices, and are manufactured to MIL-SPEC, NAS, and MS standards in corrosion-resistant steel, titanium, and A286 alloy with controlled drive recesses such as Phillips, Torx, or hexagonal socket forms.
