Grooved pins are cylindrical fasteners incorporating longitudinal or spiral grooves pressed or rolled along their shank, which elastically deform upon insertion to generate an interference fit within drilled holes, eliminating the need for secondary locking features. Manufactured from corrosion-resistant steel, titanium, or nickel alloys to ASNA, MS, and NAS standards, they are used in aerospace assemblies for hinge, pivot, and alignment applications demanding vibration resistance and repeated removal capability.
