Pitot tubes are aerodynamic sensing probes that measure ram air pressure for airspeed and Mach number determination, typically manufactured from stainless steel or nickel alloys using precision machining and electropolishing, and incorporating integral heating elements to prevent ice accretion in compliance with DO-160 environmental qualification standards.
