Spin testing covers the controlled overspeed and burst-margin evaluation of rotating aerospace components — principally turbine and compressor discs, blisks, impellers and flywheels — conducted in evacuated spin pits using strain gauging, telemetry and high-speed data acquisition to verify structural integrity, cyclic fatigue life and containment behaviour in accordance with airworthiness certification requirements.
