Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) equipment provides satellite-based augmentation of GPS signals to achieve precision approach navigation accuracy, encompassing WAAS-enabled receivers, LPV (Localiser Performance with Vertical guidance) decoders, and associated signal processing hardware that applies ionospheric and tropospheric correction data broadcast from geostationary satellites to deliver lateral and vertical position integrity meeting TSO-C146 certification requirements.
