Plenums are pressurised or atmospheric chamber assemblies used in aircraft environmental control systems (ECS), bleed-air distribution, and avionics cooling architectures to collect, equalise, and redirect airflow before downstream distribution. Fabricated from aluminium alloy, titanium, or composite materials using sheet-metal forming, superplastic forming (SPF), or resin transfer moulding (RTM), they are designed to precise pressure drop and flow uniformity requirements per AS9100-qualified processes.
