Attitude indicators, also known as artificial horizons, display aircraft pitch and roll relative to the Earth's horizon, covering both traditional gyroscopic instruments using vacuum- or electrically-driven spinning rotors and solid-state variants employing MEMS inertial sensors, with outputs typically integrated into ARINC 429 or MIL-STD-1553 avionics architectures.
